Analyst Access & Engagement Policy

Elev8 Group operates an independent research and advisory practice. All engagement with Chris Long — whether as a vendor seeking market coverage or as a practitioner client seeking strategic advice — is governed by the terms set out in this policy. This policy defines the scope, structure, and permitted use of each session type. It exists to protect research independence, manage expectations clearly, and ensure that every interaction delivers measurable value.

Vendor Track

Briefings

A Briefing is a structured, 30-minute session in which a vendor introduces or updates Elev8 on their product, platform, or market position. Briefings are available to vendors operating in the Workforce Technology, HR Technology, and related markets. They are informational in nature and do not constitute any form of endorsement, evaluation commitment, or advisory relationship.

Duration: 30 minutes Format: Video call Frequency: One per vendor per quarter

Attendance & Participation

  • Briefings must be requested and led by the vendor's Analyst Relations, Marketing, or Product team.
  • A maximum of three vendor representatives may attend. Attendance beyond this must be agreed in advance.
  • Third-party agencies attending on a vendor's behalf must be disclosed at the time of booking.
  • Briefings may not be recorded by the vendor without prior written consent from Elev8.

Briefings may be used to

  • Introduce a product, platform, or capability to Elev8 for the first time.
  • Update Elev8 on a significant product release, roadmap development, or market shift.
  • Share market data, customer evidence, or case studies relevant to Elev8's research coverage areas.
  • Establish or maintain an ongoing relationship with Elev8 as a tracked vendor.

Briefings may not be used to

  • Request, negotiate, or discuss paid engagements, sponsorships, or vendor content programmes.
  • Seek feedback on marketing messaging, product positioning, or competitive narratives.
  • Ask Chris to validate, endorse, or publicly comment on a product or claim.
  • Conduct back-to-back Briefings on the same product or topic in the same quarter.
  • Replace or substitute for an Executive Briefing where deeper engagement is the intended outcome.

Executive Briefings

An Executive Briefing is an extended, 60-minute engagement between senior vendor leadership and Elev8. Executive Briefings are reserved for vendors seeking a more substantive conversation — typically around strategy, market positioning, category definition, or significant product evolution. They are available by application only and are subject to scheduling availability and research relevance.

Duration: 60 minutes Format: Video call or in-person Frequency: One per vendor per six months Access: Application required

Attendance & Participation

  • Executive Briefings must include at least one C-suite or VP-level representative from the vendor organisation.
  • A maximum of four vendor representatives may attend. Attendee names and roles must be provided at the time of booking.
  • Third-party agencies may not attend Executive Briefings unless confirmed in writing by Elev8 in advance.
  • Executive Briefings may not be recorded by the vendor without prior written consent from Elev8.

Executive Briefings may be used to

  • Share strategic direction, market thesis, or category-level thinking with Elev8.
  • Present significant platform evolution, M&A developments, or partnership announcements.
  • Discuss product roadmap in confidence where relevant to Elev8's published research agenda.
  • Engage in a substantive, two-way conversation about market dynamics and research coverage.

Executive Briefings may not be used to

  • Lobby for specific positioning, ratings, or coverage outcomes in Elev8 research.
  • Negotiate or discuss commercial arrangements of any kind.
  • Request written deliverables, reports, or post-session summaries from Elev8.
  • Extend the session beyond its scheduled time without Elev8's agreement on the day.
  • Conduct a second Executive Briefing within the same six-month window on the same topic.
Note: Vendors interested in deeper engagement — including vendor advisory, market intelligence, or sponsored content — should review the For Vendors section. Commercial engagement is kept entirely separate from research access to protect the independence of Elev8's published work.
Client Advisory Track

Advisory Sprints

An Advisory Sprint is a focused, time-bound engagement designed to generate a clear output on a defined strategic question. Sprints are typically structured as a series of two to four sessions delivered over a concentrated period. They are available to organisations that have confirmed an active engagement with Elev8 and are working on a specific workforce technology or HR operating model challenge.

Sessions: 2–4 sessions per sprint Duration: 60 minutes per session Format: Video or in-person Output: Defined at engagement outset

Attendance & Participation

  • Advisory Sprints must be led by the named engagement owner — the individual responsible for the strategic question being addressed.
  • Supporting team members may attend where relevant to the topic, agreed in advance with Elev8.
  • Attendee composition should remain consistent across sprint sessions. Introducing new stakeholders mid-sprint requires Elev8's agreement.
  • Sessions may be recorded by the client for internal use only, subject to Elev8's prior written agreement.

Advisory Sprints may be used to

  • Work through a defined strategic question in workforce technology, HR operating model design, or vendor selection.
  • Apply Elev8's research frameworks — including Calibr8 outputs, Articul8 market intelligence, and the Hex-Model — to a client's specific context.
  • Receive structured recommendations and a defensible next step at the close of the engagement.
  • Pressure-test a proposed direction, decision, or business case with independent analysis.

Advisory Sprints may not be used to

  • Scope, commission, or negotiate additional Elev8 services within session time.
  • Request work product — reports, documents, presentations — not agreed in the original engagement scope.
  • Extend the sprint beyond its agreed scope without a formal scope amendment.
  • Share session content, outputs, or recommendations externally without Elev8's prior written consent.
  • Substitute for a Decision Workshop where structured facilitation and broader stakeholder alignment is needed.

Decision Workshops

A Decision Workshop is a structured facilitation session designed to move a leadership team from ambiguity to a defensible decision. Workshops are delivered in a single session, typically running two to four hours, and are structured around a defined decision challenge. They are available to senior leadership teams — typically CHRO, CPO, or their direct reports — and require a pre-session briefing to be completed by the client prior to delivery.

Duration: 2–4 hours Format: In-person preferred; video available Attendees: Up to 12 participants Pre-work: Required

Attendance & Participation

  • Decision Workshops must be sponsored by a senior leader with decision-making authority over the topic at hand.
  • Attendance is capped at 12 participants. Requests to exceed this limit will be assessed individually and may require a revised format.
  • All attendees must be employees or contracted partners of the commissioning organisation. External consultants attending must be disclosed to Elev8 in advance.
  • Decision Workshops may not be recorded without Elev8's prior written consent.
  • A pre-session briefing document must be completed and returned to Elev8 no later than five business days before the workshop date.

Decision Workshops may be used to

  • Surface and stress-test the trade-offs in a high-stakes HR technology or workforce strategy decision.
  • Align a leadership team around a shared framework for evaluating options and reaching a decision.
  • Apply Elev8's research, market intelligence, and analytical frameworks to a real organisational decision.
  • Generate a clear, documented decision rationale and agreed set of next steps.

Decision Workshops may not be used to

  • Replace a full diagnostic or research process where foundational data is missing.
  • Accommodate audiences larger than 12 without prior agreement on a revised format.
  • Address multiple unrelated decision challenges in a single session.
  • Produce externally publishable content, vendor endorsements, or market commentary on behalf of the client organisation.
  • Operate without the required pre-session briefing — workshops without completed pre-work may be rescheduled at Elev8's discretion.

Executive Sessions

An Executive Session is a confidential, one-on-one or small-group engagement between Chris Long and a C-suite or board-level leader. These sessions are reserved for the most senior advisory relationships and are available only as part of a confirmed retained or project-based advisory engagement with Elev8. Executive Sessions are highly bespoke: agenda, format, and output are agreed in advance with the individual leader.

Duration: By agreement (typically 60–90 minutes) Format: In-person or video Attendees: 1–4 maximum Access: Retained clients only

Attendance & Participation

  • Executive Sessions are available exclusively to confirmed retained or strategic advisory clients of Elev8.
  • Sessions must be attended by the named engagement holder. Delegation to a non-senior substitute requires Elev8's agreement in advance.
  • Additional attendees — where applicable — must be agreed with Elev8 at the time of scheduling. Maximum four attendees in total.
  • All content discussed in Executive Sessions is treated as strictly confidential by Elev8. Clients must apply equivalent standards internally.
  • Sessions may not be recorded without prior written agreement from Elev8.

Executive Sessions may be used to

  • Access Chris Long's direct perspective on a specific strategic, market, or organisational challenge.
  • Receive candid, off-the-record analysis not available through any other Elev8 service format.
  • Review, pressure-test, or sense-check a proposed strategy, investment, or operating model decision.
  • Prepare for a board presentation, investor conversation, or major internal announcement requiring independent analytical input.
  • Maintain strategic continuity across a retained advisory relationship — connecting point-in-time decisions to longer-term direction.

Executive Sessions may not be used to

  • Scope, negotiate, or reprice ongoing Elev8 engagements during session time.
  • Request written deliverables, reports, or public-facing content not agreed in the original engagement terms.
  • Substitute for formal research, evaluation, or diagnostic work where structured methodology is required.
  • Share outputs, frameworks, or Chris Long's direct commentary externally without explicit written consent.
  • Extend session access beyond the terms of the confirmed advisory engagement without a formal renewal.

Research Independence Statement

Elev8's research, analysis, and published positions are independent of all commercial relationships. Vendor access — including Briefings and Executive Briefings — does not influence research outcomes, scores, or published recommendations. Client advisory engagements are conducted under strict confidentiality and do not create conflicts of interest with Elev8's market-facing research. Any arrangement that would compromise research independence will be declined regardless of commercial terms.
